Said the voice of security system as the zeta tube of the entrance started to burn a white light and when the light faded a red haired girl dressed in a green sweater and black jeans and holding a pair of bags appeared. Maxine was still a little nervous by the idea of being atomized in order to travel to the Mount Justice, but it was the quickest way to arrive, especially if you were loaded down like Maxine. She was able to convince her parents to let her spend the weekends in the Mount Justice and she was starting to move a few of her things in her new room in the cave. This would be the perfect chance to socialize and make friends, and she could spend more time with Red, who was like a big brother. And maybe they could have a pajama party, watching movies, eating popcorns, she has never been invited to a pajama party in her life, and she wasn't sure why. As she started to daydream about future experiences in the Mount she left in the ground the two bags with her stuff.

Suddenly one of the bags started to shake and Maxine gasped and jumped surprised. Then a tiny brown haired monkey jumped of the bag and looked at Maxine and then around the cave. "Frankie!! I think I told you to stay at home! Why did you hide in the bag?"said the red haired girl looking at her pet monkey with a serious expression in her face. "C'mon I'm waiting for an answer young man"said Maxine. Frankie simply look down to the ground. Maxine's expression softened. "Awww! I can't get mad at you. Alright, I'll forgive you this time, but don't do this again. Now stay near me and don't explore by your...Frankie!!!!"shouted Maxine as she realized that her monkey has left her and started to explore Mount Justice by his own.

Maxine quickly grabbed her bags and started to pursue the monkey. "Frankie come back here! Bad monkey!!"

[Aqualad]

Things had more or less settled down. The team and the League had stopped the Light for the time being. But by no means did Kaldur think that the work was ever done. Even when the entire world seemed to be at peace. The only thing that seemed constant in his life now was the team.

This morning, he helped the navy with their search and rescue operation of the two pilots whose helicopter crashed two days ago. They might have been searching for corpses so they asked Aqualad to help speed the process and save resources. A good half and an hour and so, they found the two women alive but in need of medical attention. It must be very difficult for surface-dwellers to navigate through the sea if it would normally take them a week to find people lost at sea.

He finished the rest of the day reviewing his Atlantean sorcery books, some of which Tula and Garth had sent from Atlantis so he could continue his studies on his own. When he finished reading through seven hundred fifty-two pages of runes, Kaldur was in a good mood. Perhaps the team were all away? With no one around, it was sure to be a boring day.

He enter the living room with a thick book at hand, looking proud. Someone was in the living room. It was one of the new girls. Maxine was her name, right? It seemed that she did not realize Kaldur was there as her focus was on her pet... monkey? That was odd. He had heard of pet dogs, cats, and even rabbits, but never a pet monkey. "... Hello." He said, letting his presence be known. Suddenly, the monkey took off and she gave chase. Aqualad wasn't sure what to do so he stood there, watching.

Maxine didn't realize that Aqualad was in the cave too and saw there as she was very busy trying to catch Frankie as he was dodging her and she nearly fell to the ground once. "Please Frankie! Calm down and be quiet if we make too much noise we cold annoy the other members of the Team!"said Maxine to the monkey but the animal didn't listen to her as he started to run and make small jumps with energy and interest trough all the living room. "Alright, you left me no choice"said a little serious as she closed her eyes and her hair started to move with the wind. A tiny whirlwind was able to trap a surprised monkey and brought him gently towards his owner. Frankie squealed surprised and before he realized it he was in the arms of a serious Maxine.

"Frankie I told you to stay near me"said the freckled girl. The monkey looked down to the ground again. "Hey!! Don't try to use the same tactic you used five seconds ago!! It won't work"was the answer of Maxine. The monkey after a few seconds looked at Maxine with puppy eyes. "Using the tactics of the neighbors' son wont work either. Stop trying to skive off"said Maxine with great will and resisting the cute tactic of her monkey. After a few seconds Frankie lowered his eyes admitting defeat. Maxine sighed. "Look Frankie, I'm not too mad with you I know that you are curious of being in a new place but you have to behave, so I'll let this pass ok? Now show me the good monkey that you can be alright?"said with a smile. Then the monkey nodded and with an "Eek" pointed to Aqualad.

"What is it Frankie?"asked as she turn around to see in front of her Aqualad, who was staring at her. Maxine blushed a lot, realizing that he probably was there since she started to chase her monkey. "Holies Elphaba and Glinda! I'm so sorry Aqualad! I didn't mean to disturb you I thought that I left Frankie in my home but I don't know how he was able to hide inside one of the bags and follow me usually he is very calm but I guess that in new places he is like Curious George I just hope neither you nor the other members of the Team wont have a trouble with him and as I said before I'm sorry so sorry"started to apologize Maxine speaking really fast and feeling a ashamed. Frankie simply nodded and rose a hand as saying hi. Way to start making new friends thought Maxine scolding herself.

Then she looked at the book that the atlantean was holding. "What are you reading?"asked with curiosity.

Kara was done with school and headed to the place that she was going to stay at with Conner. she listened to the computer call out something and she walked in to the mount justice. "hello?" karas voice was just a whisper. she listened to the sounds around her and followed the voices, once she came upon Aqualad and Maxine with a monkey. kara floated her way up to Maxine and her monkey and giggled. he was a cute little earth animal. "you are so cute mr. earth animal, my names kara" of course the blonde felt better talking to a monkey then the other earth humans, she was afraid of rejection. "hello Maxine, hello Aqualad."

Kaldur continued to watch the strange girl and her monkey. Holies Elphaba and Glinda? He had never heard anything like that. Was those names? Kaldur was a bit confuse, but he didn't show it. Instead, his expression lighten up and he was smiling slightly. He waited patiently for her to stop talking so that he could speak, but she kept going on and on. Not that it was a problem. It was what the surface people would call cute. He did not think it possible, but she was more talkable then the team's speedster and just as, if not more, bubbly Miss Martian.

"No apologies are necessary. You might want to kill Frankie away from Superboy," He said, calmly, "He is not the biggest fan of monkies." Kaldur had completely forgot about the book in his hand. He held it up slightly, showing the title. "Atlantean Sorcery." As Kara made her appearance Kaldur waved slightly. Two new members.... He wonder where the rest of the team were.

"Hello Supergirl." Well, this was a bit awkward. Kaldur wasn't the most social in the group. Where was Miss Martian and Superboy? He searched through his head trying to find the right words to say next. "We are all friends here. Please call me Kaldur." Okay, that was a start. "And if I may ask, what is a... Holies Elphaba and Glinda?"

Maxine breathed a little relieved when she looked that Aqualad wasn't angry at her for making a lot of noise with Frankie. With a hand she tucked her hair behind her ear with a happy smile. "Thanks a lot "said happily Maxine. She was glad that the atlantean wasn't mad at her for speaking too much and too fast. She blinked surprised when he said that Superboy didn't like monkeys. "What? Why? How? But monkeys are the cutest things in the world nothing cans says love like a monkey...well kittens and puppies take second place in that but really, why Superboy hates monkeys?"she was really shocked. It was the first time she has heard that someone hates monkeys, and she hopes that Superboy had a very good reason to hate such cute and good animals like monkeys are. "I guess that if I saw him I'll ask him personally and better for him to have a good reason"said with decision Maxine.

"Atlantean Sorcery...wow that sounds really awesome"said the red haired girl amazed. "That's right your powers are sorcery too...you have to keep up with the lessons it's very reasonable and cool. I have to say that I was always interested in the way your powers work. It's so cool that it's magic I know that many people says that magic doesn't exist and try to find a scientific explanation to many things, but in my opinion science is magic and magic is science, there are a lot of rules that apply to both of them at the same time, it's really fun and amazing."said the freckled girl. Indeed she found the powers of Kaldur amazing, she find everything around her amazing and interesting and she was always eager to learn more.

Then Supergirl arrived. "Hi Supergirl!"said Maxine with a happy smile to the blond. "Yes he is really cute"said Maxine to the kryptonian happily. Frankie simply nodded and smiled by the praises and waved his tiny hand to Supergirl as saying hello. Maxine smiled when Aqualad said they could call him Kaldur. "Okay then Kaldur you two can call me Maxine"said happy. "And Kara you can call him Frankie"said Maxine to Supergirl pointing at her monkey. "Would you like to hold Frankie? I think he would like that and don't worry he is very good with the people he likes"said with a smile. She then looked again at Kaldur when he asked her who were Elphaba and Glinda. "Elphaba and Glinda are two fictional characters from the Wizard of Oz, the main characters of Wicked and two of my idols. Have you never seen the musical Wicked before Kaldur? It's one of the best of all history the songs, the story the characters everything is fun and amazing. Believe me you have to see it someday maybe I can try to get some tickets so you can see it and Kara if you want too the more the merrier you know. Maybe I could get tickets for the other members of the Team if they want. I assure to both of you that Wicked is one of the best experiences in life"said Maxine speaking fast again as she was really excited by her favorite musical.

Kara nodded and cuddled the monkey lightly, now she was jealous. Clark had Krypto and Superboy had Wolf and Maxine had a monkey. Kara wanted a pet that she could talk to and love. she tryed to listen to maxine talk about the things she was talking about but kara didnt understand, so she kept loving on the monkey.

Honestly, Kaldur had never asked Superboy why he dislike monkeys so much. Kaldur did have an idea though. Maybe it had to do with those G-Gnomes of Cadmus that were similar to monkeys in a way. "I am not sure myself," Kaldur responded, "I do not believe it would be a problem." Hopefully, Wolf wouldn't eat the little fellow. He was sure that would cause a major problem within the group.

There she went again. Kaldur had comfirmed it. Maxine spoke even more than Wally... Something he did not think possible. He just smile slightly, waiting patiently to speak. She did seem easy to get along with. She just spoke so fast. "You have very intriguing viewpoints," He said, "If you like, I lend you the book." He turned to Supergirl who was now playing with the monkey.

Ah! So they were characters from a book. Kaldur had heard of this book called Wizard of Oz, but never of this... Wicked. Maybe he would pick it up and give it a go. Truthfully, he had never thought about attending a musical, but he would not mind going with a friend. "I can not say that I have," He answered, "If we are free then I see no reason why we would not be able to see the musical."

So then Kaldur didn't know either why Superboy hated monkeys. It was still really strange. "Don't worry Kaldur, I'll ask Superboy and see if he can try to get along with Frankie. I'm sure he'll be very reasonable and will understand and I'm sure that Frankie won't cause him a lot of troubles, right Frankie?"asked Maxine to the her monkey. The animal took a brief pause as if he was thinking for the answer and quickly nodded.

"Thanks a lot Kaldur. I think that everybody have different viewpoints of life and we should respect them all"said Maxine with a smile. She open her eyes suprised when he said that he could lend her the book. "Oh wow! Thanks a lot Kaldur, I would really love that I mean I always wanted to learn more about other cultures and I think that the Atlantean would be a very good start I'll promise that I'll take care of the book and if you need it again I'll return it immediately"said Maxine amazed as she accepted the book and hold it like if it was a treasure, although for the red haired girl this book was indeed a treasure and very valuable.

She smiled more when the atlantean said that they could go to see the musical someday. "That's really awesome I'll be asking the other members of the TEam if they are interested too tell me a day when everybody is free and I'll try to get the tickets for that night. Oh I know!!! I have the novles of Wicked and Wizard of Oz I can lend them to you if you want is the least I can do after you lend me your book about sorcery."said with a smile as she handed Frankie to Kara who was totally enjoying the cuddles of the kryptonian teen (he totally loves the attention). She then looked inside one of the bags and was able to pull out a book with the tittle the Wizard of Oz. "Here I'll try to look for the Wicked novel in home and pass it to you"said Maxine with a smile as she handed the book to Kaldur. In the first meeting she thought that Kaldur was really formal and serious and thought that she could end in a lot fo troubles with the way she is and behaves, but she was glad to see that he was really nice and friendly.

She smiled when she saw how Frankie and Kara were having a lot of fun together. "Glad that you liked him Kara"said with a smile

Kara snuggled the monkey happily. she was existed that Maxine had a pet. she had never seen a monkey before and it made the world a brighter place. "Conner said i could have a pet too, so he is going to take me to get one." the blonde listen to the two talk about books and something called a play or musical. Kara didn't really know what that was, maybe she would ask sparky or Conner, who ever she saw next. the blonde lightly place Frankie down and looked at Maxine. "wouldyou like some help taking your stuff to your room, i wouldn't mind helping. i am very strong."

[Aqualad]

"I do not believe he would an issue with Frankie," Kaldur said. Then again, how would Kaldur know how Superboy would react? He just thought that since Frankie was Maxine's pet that Superboy would just deal with it. Kaldur did not see the problem with having another pet. Wolf was not a problem. At times Kaldur even forgot that he was here. There was also Sphere... Was she really a pet?

"Please. Take your time with the book," He replied, "I have never met someone such as you; someone interested in other cultures." People their age usually did not bother with these tight of things. Most say it was boring. Kaldur liked Maxine. They both seemed to enjoy reading. Of course he took the book. "Thank you. I shall enjoy reading this."

Another pet!? There was going to be another pet in Mount Justice. Soon they would have more pets then people on the team. Finally, Kaldur remembered that she had brought a few bags. "I apologize. Please allow me to take your bags."

"It's good to hear I'll talk with Superboy the sooner that I can"said Maxine with a smile as Kaldur assured him that the Kryptonian wouldn't have issues with Frankie. The monkey was her first best friend and she would feel really sad if she coulnd't see her pet monkey in the cave.

"And thanks again for the book Kaldur, I'm sure that I'll learn a lot of it"said amazed as she looked again at the sorcery book. Then Kaldur said that he hadn't met in his life someone like her. She was used to hear it: "I have never met someone such as you someone that could talk and annoy the hell out of me" but she blinked surprised that instead of saying it he said someone interested in other cultutres. Maxine blinked surprised. "Oh wow thanks...I guess that I like a lot learning everything in the world is such amazing. Guess Frankie learned that from me"said with a nervous chuckle. People of their age tend to reject her for being a mothor mouth and a geek. She liked Kaldur. He was really nice and looked like he likes reading too and he was kinda cute. "It's really amazing I'm sure you'll like it"said with a shy smile.

"That's really cool Kara the more pets the merrier"said Maxine with a grin in her face. Sje wondred what pet would Kara pick. "Thanks a lot to both of you and don't worry Kaldur, I only brought a few posters and clothes so they aren't really heavy and the only big weight left the bag minutes ago"said with a chuckle looking at Frankie. The monkey simply buffed a little offended despite Maxine was only joking. She really appreciated the help of her two new friends, and Kaldur's offer to take the bags. "So Kara how are things in school?"asked curious to Supergirl, hoping she was adapting well.

"school. well i dont like school, theirs bullys their and they dont like me. they pick on me all the time. but i do like biology, learning about animals is one of my fav things to do, we watched this show called frozen planet and i learned their was things called pandas, they are white bears and they live in the cold, feeding on seals and stuff. then their is Orcas or killer whales, they are very smart for being animals they all gang up on seals and then theirs theses birds that cant fly and their called penguins." the blonde could go on and on about animals in the world. she was sure that when she grew up she would want to be a biologist.

Once kara figured she was talking to much the blonde quickly closed her mouth. she didnt want to come off like a blonde bobble head but she loved to talk and maxine looked like nice girl who she would come to be best friends with.

[Aqualad]

"It is best to keep your mind open," He added. The more people understood about each other the easier it was to get along. Well, that was something that Kaldur believed. Kaldur continued to examine the book and turned his attention back to the monkey. He was a bit curious about the monkey. He seemed to be pretty intelligent. "How did you and Frankie meet?"

Hearing that Kara was being bully, Kaldur found it a bit odd. Most likely she was way stronger than them. Kaldur was sure he would be bullied too if he were to go to school. Having gills would make him an easy target. "They are just words, Kara. They do not know you and are most likely jealous," He placed a hand on Kara's shoulder, "Give it a few days. I am positive it will get better." That was pretty much the only advice he could give her besides telling her to beat them up... That wouldn't be good. But he was pleased that she seemed to be enjoying some aspects of school.

"I agree"said Maxine with a smile and a happy nod. She was happy that Kaldur understand it. He then asked her when she met Frankie. "Well my aunt Sisty is an activist for the rights of the animals, last summer she and her group discovered about Cadmus was about to start experiments on animals and she planned to save them. I offered to help, it's just that I don't like people nor animlas in cages nor as lab rats"said Maxine taking a pause as a brief memory of her kidnap came to her mind. She quickly pushed it back."Please don't tell my dad I helped in that he would suffer an attack. Then during July 4, a fire happened in the labs and my aunt decided to rush the plan. We didn't know what caused the fire but we learn later of that night news about that supervillain attack. Luckily with the fire all the people were evacuated but they left all the animals behind whic, we get them out of Cadmus and ran away, well technically my aunt didn't let me enter with them I just waited outside. Among those animals there was Frankie who recently arrived to our country in that moment, I offered to take care of him and give him a home. He is very clever and he learned quickly things that I taught to him and he was my first and best friend."said Maxine remembering all those events.

She looked at Kara with a sad expression rememberibng that the red haired girl used to be bullied in school too. "Kaldur is rigth Kara, amybe in a few days things will get better but if you can't stand it anymore ask for a teacher to help you. They are not only to taught us things don't be afraid and remember that you have all of us to help you too."said with a smile as she placed a hand in Kara's other shoulder. She then listened to Kara's love to biology. "That's true biology rocks"she blinked and giggled a little. "I think that you meant polar bears Kara. Pandas live in China and they have black and white fur and they eat mainly bambu"explained Maxine to the Kryptonian. "I could try to give you some books of biology if you want"said with a friendly smile.


(OOC:I hope there is not a problem with Maxine's storie about Frankie and that they met in the same day of episode one of season one. If there is an issue I'll change it inmediatly ^^)
