New Found Friends.(Liyang+Kara)

Kara walked out of the school and headed to the park. thanks to Superman and Conner, Kara was able to go to school with the others who went to happy harbor. Kara sat on a bench and waited for Liyang who was going to be meeting up with her. He was her friend and she trusted him a lot. the blonde watched the clouds in the sky move across the blue colored sky. she watched as people passed her by. the blonde let out a sigh and stood up. "he forgot about me." the girl knew that Conner didnt like Liyang but she thought that he would still be her friend. Kara began to walk down the sidewalk.

[Liyang Yoon]

Late. He was late. Never once had he been late until now. This had been one of the longest and most terrifying weeks of his life. Being forced back in time he thought was the worst of it, but it seemed around every corner he found trouble. First he ran into Harley Quinn and then some super powered villain a few days after. He still somewhat recovering from it all. "... C'mon! I'm lost," He sighed.

He was wearing a black and white plaid shirt and a pair of black jeans. Liyang was sure she would be upset. Great... Another reason for her cousin to hate me. Finally, he decided to run, cutting his way throw the crowd of people. "Sorry! Sorry! I'm late!" His body was aching from being sore, but he kept pushing himself. He could deal with the pain of being sore, but he refused to deal with losing a potential good friend.

Making a quick-sharp turn at a tree, Liyang's blue eyes met Kara's. She was beautiful. He stopped and nearly tripped over his own two feet. He rubbed the back of his head and smiled slightly. "Sorry. Traffic was horrible," He said sheepishly, "And I kinda got lost... A lot."

He didn't forget about her, he was just lost. Kara pulled him in to a hug and smiled. "I'm glad you wanted to meet me, Wally said that you had to tell me something, something that was about you and me." Kara pulled out the cracked cell phone and showed the text message - Hey Kar, its Wally, Meet Yoon at the park he wants to tell you something about you and him, if you catch my drift - Kara sighed, she didn't know what that meant or why wally had a wink face on her phone. she wished Conner was their to help her understand, she had actually come here with out asking Conner or Clark. kara looked up at Liyang for answers.

"Sparky will you explain this to me please, being that Conner's not around this human written language is confusing." Kara hoped he didnt mind her calling him sparky, she loved his personality, it just sparked for her so she called him sparky.

[Liyang Yoon]

So she wasn't mad about him being late. That was a relief. She wasn't the type of person to hold onto something so trivial as that. Cool. Way past cool. When she pulled him into a hug Liyang was a bit surprise. It wasn't expecting it, but of course he welcomed it. Who wouldn't want a hug from a beautiful girl like Kara? He was a little hesitant at first, but finally he returned the embrace. What she said next shouldn't have surprised Liyang, but for some odd reason it did...

Wally had told Kara that Liyang wanted to meet her. It was true. Liyang did enjoy being in the company of Kara, but Wally had told him that she was the one that wanted to meet him. Liyang sighed slightly. He would have to pay Wally a visit later on to thank and to give him his punishment. Last thing Liyang needed was Conner to see that message and get the wrong idea. "That little red--Yeah, I did want to meet up with you," He said, smiling, "Yeah... I just--Oh! I wanted to get to know you better. Nothing more."

Sparky!? Did she just call him Sparky? There went Liyang's street cred. Still, Liyang found himself blushing slightly. She had gave him a nickname. It was way better than being called Yoon by Wally all the time. Not that he didn't mind being called Yoon. It was his last name after all. "Wally's crazy. I don't think I can explain anything he says," He said sheepishly, "It's not the human language. It's Wally this time."

Kara giggled, Sparky was cute, even if she didnt know human ways she knew he was in to her."Ok, well ill answer anything you need." the blonde took his hand and led him to the swings, lightly she let go of his hand and sat on the swing. she had seen some girls swinging and she wanted to try it out. The young blonde girl tried to figure out how to swing it was a complicated thing and she was lost on how smart humans were. kara smiled at Liyang. "Sparky will you teach me how to work this thing?" kara loved asking people for help. watched him closely.

Kara wouldnt tell anyone but she thought that this young blonde boy was cute, he was like forbidden fruit to her, someone she could never have. mostly because she didnt understand the human ways and Conner was always their to protect her, she adored Conner he was her family and he cared about her more than anyone but she couldnt help but have a small crush on this blonde boy who was always so lovible.

[Liyang Yoon]

"Wally didn't tell you anything else, right?" He asked, Because I totally didn't say it unless he said something you like... Then I said that." Liyang's dad had told him if he could make a girl smile and laugh then that meant she like you. Still, Liyang had a feeling that there was much more to it then that. If only he could understand women... How simple his life would be. And Kara happened to be a woman and an alien.

Kara was the coolest person he knew and she seemed to be into him. Now he wasn't sure what he wanted to ask her. She just seemed to flow with things. Maybe it was because she was a bit naive when it came to human ways. He ravaged his brain for questions that he could ask her, but why couldn't he find anything. This was all new to Liyang! He talked to girls before, but never girls that he liked. Finally, he had found something. He asked her about her home. That was easy. "Your home. What was it li--"

Liyang suddenly stopped talking, completely forgetting what he was going to say. He looked their hands for a moment and started to blush. Quickly, he turned his head in the opposite direction of her. Just be cool... It's not like you never held a girl's hand before. Sadly, that was true. The only other girl's hand he has ever held was his mother's... Sad, very sad.

She let him to the swing set and Liyang could see where this was going. "I guess I am good for a few things," He smiled, pushing her gently on the swings. Maybe it was all in his head, but he kept getting the feeling that Conner would jump out and challenge him to Mortal Kombat. Conner, the over protective cousin. Liyang would love if Conner would like him, but he just didn't see that happening. "So... Uh, I... Yup..."

Kara giggled at Liyang's reaction to her, once he started to push her on the swings Kara smiled, she felt like a normal teenage girl. "my home? well it was beautiful, we had beautiful crystals." she wasn't sure how to answer his question. "thank you sparky" the blonde girl looked back at liyang, she could see the faint blush on his cheek, she couldn't help but think that she had something to do with it. she wounder if superbly would be mad if he knew where she was, and who she was with. now she was distracted with thoughts that burst in to her mind. she couldn't help but let a faint blush flow across her face. loved the feeling of flying but this free fall feeling was horrible, she began to freak out, the blonde girl let go of the chain in mid air and fell backwards to the ground.

the young girl would no longer like swings, the free falling was terrifying. sure she could fly because she had control over it but this she didn't like. To her surpise she was caught. now Kara was in his arms, he caught her and she was safe.

[Liyang Yoon]

Liyang had no idea why he would bring up that question. Asking her about her home only made him think about his own home. Thinking about his home only lead to him thinking of his parents. Liyang's mother always told him that home was were the heart was... As a little boy, he really did not understand. The heart was in the chest, how could his home be there? It did not make sense. Once he got older, he understood clearly. Home was not a house, a planet, or a time period. No, it was where the people you loved was. With the death of his parents, Liyang had no clue where his home was.

He forced a smile upon his face, hiding the fact that he was lost in his own thoughts for a moment. "Tch! No reason to thank me boss," He said, "It's been a long time since I've enjoyed myself." He should be the one thanking her. He continued to push her, enjoying the moment even if it was short. He pushed her a bit higher. He did really think anything of it since she could fly, but he was surprised that she had let go and was falling now.

Of course he caught her. The last thing he needed was another reason for Conner to dislike him. Well, he would have caught her anyway. She was gently in his arms when their eyes met. A slight grin danced across his face. "I gotcha. Your cousin would kill me if you were to get hurt," He said, "I think my arms would be the safest place for you to be right now." That's when it hit him. He had her in his arms and was staring in her eyes!!! Oh! Just play it cool man, play it cool. He faced turned red again as he quickly turned away. He gently put her back on the ground and rubbed the back of his neck slightly.

...So much for playing it cool.

kara was confused, why did he call her boss, was that a nickname he gave her. As he sat her down on the ground kara smiled. She watched as he turned yet again the shade of red. "thank you for catching me Sparky." kara reached over and kissed his cheek in return. she had seen many kids at school do it and she thought that, that is what kids did in this planet. "are you ok Sparky your red, i didnt think humans turned red."

the young blonde girl was confused by the change of color on him. Kara lightly lifted a hand to his cheek and touched the boys red skin. she wondered what caused the means of color change on him.

[Liyang Yoon]

"It's nothing. I just didn't expect you to fall for me so soon," He said, smiling. He rubbed the back of his neck slightly, realizing that she might not get the pun. After thinking about it, he was grateful because it was a bit lame... Really lame. Then she kissed him on the cheek. Liyang froze completely, his face even turning a deeper red. She was killing him softly with these little signs of affection. But he would die happy, that was for sure.

She was different, much different. So she did not understand how she could simply drive Liyang crazy. "Uh, it's blushing. Your face turns a little red because of emotion," He explained, ""Usually pleasure, embarrassment, or shyness." Well, that was the best way he could explain it. Hopefully, she would understand. "So, uh, you should be careful with your actions. If a guy thinks you like and you do things like kiss him... on the cheek or holding hands," He paused for a moment, "He, uh... He might get the idea that you like him too. I know we're just friends so it's cool."

Just friends... Just friends. There was a part of him that wanted to be more than friends. But there was things pulling against them. Conner disliked him. Liyang never wanted to be that person who came between family. Then there was the fact that Liyang was haunted by a vengeful ghost. He was bent on finding the villain responsible for his parents' death. As she placed her hand on his cheek Liyang smiled for a moment before stepping back and putting some distance between them. "I don't think we should get too close," He said softly, "I don't think Conner would like that."

Just friends....that burned in karas mind, their was something about him she liked, but if just friends was all he wanted then she would stop showing the little pieces of flirting she did with him. the hand holding he would have to get use to. it was her way with every one. she even did that with Conner, she would often grab a friends hand to lead them or have them lead her. "It's ok, i understand." Kara felt like she was doing everything wrong, she did like him though, he made her feel more welcome on earth, but now would she give anything to go home to her home planet and talk with her mom, but she didn't have anyone to talk boys with, Conner didn't like her talking with boys so he was out of the equation and it was weird talking with M'gann and wally well he was weird all in him self.

[Liyang Yoon]

No, it was not okay. Liyang was not afraid of Conner. He just did not like the idea of coming between family. She still had Conner and Superman. Liyang knew that Kara made her own choices so if she wanted to like someone she would. Deep down, he knew he was just using Conner as an excuse. No. Deep down he was scared. He was scared of getting close to people because he could lose them. It wasn't fair to Kara. He reached out and grabbed both of her hands, but stared at the ground.

"It's not okay Kara. It really has nothing to do with Conner. I mean, I do want Conner to like me, but... That doesn't matter to me. When my parents were killed I strayed away from people. I'm afraid to get close to people because they'll be taken away from me... I'll be left with nothing but the pain, nothing but haunting memories..." It was selfish and he knew it. Living was life and death. Someone could be taken away from you at any time. Even before the death of his parents he knew this. He just never expected it to hurt so bad.

"I think you like me as much as I like you, Kara... All what I said, that was underage thinking. Being here with you, I realize I need to grow up. My parents are gone and I don't think they'll ever be coming back so I need to look to the future. I think my future is with you." Liyang's parents would want him to be happy and give up on this idea of revenge. "So I just got get stronger so that I can protect you," He said, staring at the ground, "I mean, that's if you like me... Then i'll just have to get Conner to like me."

Kara listen to the boy speak. the two were in the same boat, they both didnt have parents and they were both afraid of people leaving them. the blonde girl looked him in they eyes as he asked if she liked him, of cours she liked him. who wouldn't like him? well ok Conner didnt like him but Kara would talk with M'gann about that. the blonde might not have know M'gann like she should but she needed to open up to someone and M'gann seemed nice, and if she could handle her loving raging brother then she was sure M'gann could handle a few tears.

"i do like you Sparky but most things i dont understand, so please dont leave me because i dont understand, and i will try my best to understand." Kara hugged him tightly but not enough to hurt him, she rested her head on his chest and felt at peace. for once the girl felt at home. this was a great month for the girl, maybe earth wasnt as bad as she thought it was. "I'm glad i stayed on earth."

[Liyang Yoon]

Maybe Liyang had said too much or maybe he just did not say enough. Putting himself out there like this was not something that he did. Now his mind started to race once again. Maybe he should have said all that. Maybe he did get the wrong impression and she did just want to be friends. Did he just make things awkward between them? He long for her friendship and winced at the thought of the fact that he might have ruined it.

It was too late now. What was said could not be taken back. But if he never shared his feelings with her, he would have walked through life regretting it. Yeah, this was right, she deserved to know. It felt like time was standing still as he waited for her to respond. Finally, she spoke. It took a moment for Liyang to register what she said. It was not until she hugged him and buried her head into his chest that Liyang smiled. She was just as afraid as he was.

”I don’t care if you don’t understand some things Kara. It’ll be a learning experience that we’ll both get through,” He said softly, ”Just as long as we’re with each other… That’s all we need to understand.” He gently kissed her on the forehead and wrapped her in his arms. ”I’m glad you stayed too.

Kara looked up at Liyang. she finaly had somewhere to belong, she did have the team, and conner. But everyone in the team had someone out side of the team to have, or they all had someone who loved them, Conner had M'gann and now Kara had Liyang. the world was happy and content. well that was until Conner finds out about this. the blonde girl reached up and placed her lips lightly on his, she had seen Conner do this to M'gann, and Wally to Artemis and Cassandra. the blonde was suprized about the feeling, it sent butterfly's around in her stomach. the world seemed to just stop, and the world was at perfect peace.
