Relationships
Terrence is a genomorph of two humans together, Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, who has been discovered by The League and recruited into their young team.
Personality
Terry is considerably more easygoing than his genetic template. Since he is not as commitment to the crusade of Batman as Bruce Wayne is, McGinnis is often caught trying to enjoy his newfound freedom as a teenager. Having escaped Cadmus on two or three occasions in the year and a half since his creation, he has gone as far as as blatantly ignoring Waller and leaving the facility to play hookey. These occasions were ones which seriously disappointed Waller, something that has had a visible effect on the young man. Despite the fact that they do not always see eye-to-eye, McGinnis values his mentor's opinion.
Being very brash - and more than a tad headstrong - McGinnis is known to attempt to take control of situations even though he is an inexperienced teenager; this is largely a result of him being created for the specific purpose of replacing Batman. It is this in combination with his overconfidence in both himself and his suit that makes the clone more complacent than he can afford to be in combat and training. On a couple of occasions he has charged blindly into a situation without thinking much about it and more often than not he draws the short end of those battles, thus teaching him how to better handle them. Of course this does not mean that he has completely stopped his brash actions, but hey, nobody's perfect.
One notable trait that Terry shares with Bruce is his strong will, something which he first illustrated when he very definitely left the Cadmus facility to do teenager things and fight crime as the Dark Knight himself; the young man has since made several more escapes into the real world to continue this pattern. McGinnis is certainly one of those individuals who believes you learn best by doing and it is this phrase which is his primary motivation for leaving the facility through any means necessary so he can act as a vigilante.
When the chips are down though you can always be certain that Terry will transform into whatever the situation calls for in a very Batman-esque fashion. He can be a team player who finishes a mission, a leader who rallies the troops, or even a single man who saves the mission. Obviously the last one is not needed as often as the other two, but Terry does posses a great amount of potential to be a great Batman someday.
History
Time and time again Batman has proven an integral and very necessary force in the superhero community. As said by Cadmus handler Amanda Waller, "The world needs a Batman", so it would only be natural that Amanda herself would spearhead a new project within the labs that would re-utilize the cloning technology to ensure that there would indeed always be a Batman to defend the world.
Using DNA scavenged from a faux attack staged by the organization, Cadmus labs quickly worked on creating the clone who would act as the new Batman in the future; the clone was dubbed "Project Beyond". Capable of aging, this clone was speed-aged to fourteen and commenced training and mental programming that would allow for him to effectively perform the tasks necessary for Batman shortly after his awakening. This age was one which Waller concluded would give plenty of time for him to grow with the assumption that the original would continue to live for a while longer.
From his first months as a clone Project Beyond was a troublesome case. With certain personality traits of the original Batman apparently genetic it would often take quite a bit for Beyond to take orders directly from even Waller. The intense and constant training frustrated the clone greatly and one day, having decided he had enough, Beyond made a successful escape from the facility that he had been dwelling in for a little over a year.
Taking the opportunity to explore, Beyond stumbled upon a mugging in progress and in line with his training and moral code, stopped it with astounding quickness. After getting a taste for "real combat" the hero stripped the criminal of his clothes and jacket, replacing his Batsuit with the clothes and deciding to explore as a civilian. He then adopted the pseudonym "Terrence McGinnis" - it was literally the first thing that came to mind - and began exploring the night. He made a fair number of acquaintances among the dark scene.
All good things must come to an end though and that night was no exception for in the early hours of the morning, McGinnis returned to a less than enthused handler. That day the young man was subjected to some of the most intense punishment and training he had ever gone through, but the punishment would serve no purpose in deterring the young man. Every month or so he stages an attempt to escape with varied levels of success and eventually Waller would come to treat his escape attempts as training; sometimes she would even reward him for a successful attempt.
Now on constant edge with those in charge of the clone, Beyond insists on being called Terry. Most people have chosen to bend to the young man's request, but Amanda still calls the future-hero by his designation.

Sample Roleplay
McGinnis landed with a crash on the hard concrete. The weight of the armor and the vigilante creating a crater in the black stone. His vision in the helmet's ocular receivers was extremely fuzzy, with a red "snow" similar to that one would see on old televisions, as the entire suit went through the rebooting process to make sure everything was functioning. The young man grunted as he pulled himself up and looked around. He had no clue where he was, and Terry wasn't sure he wanted to. There were no exceptionally tall buildings in the city, there were large ones but nothing the scale of Neo-Gotham. Quickly ducking into an alley, Terry pulled off the armor and stored it in into a backpack he had found on the ground.
"Okay, so you're in a completely weird-looking city after fighting a time traveler?" Terry muttered to himself as he swung the strap over his shoulder, "easy answer, you're in the past... Probably Gotham if you think logically. Well, I can at least be happy it's day time and I won't get jumped walking down the street." Striding out of the dark path, the young man began traveling through the sprawling metropolis. First thing was first he would have to figure out how to get back to his own time without screwing things up too terribly.
